Description
-Most home garages and small shops don't need a truck balancer — they need a machine that plugs into a standard outlet, handles everything from a 13" steel spare to a 22" alloy, and reads within a gram so the weight goes on once, not three times. That's the job the Katool KT-B700 is built for: a computer wheel balancer that takes rims under 30" and wheels up to 143 lbs, spins a measurement in 7 seconds, and runs on ordinary 110V single-phase power — no special wiring, no shop air.
Build and Accuracy
-- 3 mm steel cabinet, solid-welded — the extra plate thickness keeps vibration out of the measurement instead of into it.
- One-piece pressure-sensor mount on 8 mm plate — the sensor assembly sits on 8 mm bottom and side boards, so the load cells read the wheel, not cabinet flex. That's where the ±1 g accuracy comes from.
- Copper-wound motor — pure copper windings for faster heat dissipation and longer service life.
- Quench-hardened 36 mm shaft, 270 mm long — the longer shaft takes wider wheels, and the removable threaded stud lets you replace the arbor rather than the machine if it's ever damaged.
- Sealed electronics — the computer board is moisture-proof, dust-proof and anti-static; the display is easy-read LED with separate inner/outer weight readouts.
- Grams or ounces, millimeters or inches — switch units from the keypad.
- Optional wheel guard available for added safety.
Five Balance Modes Plus Weight Optimization
-The KT-B700 powers up in dynamic mode and covers the weight placements a mixed bay actually sees:
- Dynamic — clip-on weights both sides; standard steel and alloy wheels.
- Static — one hidden stick-on weight in the center plane.
- ALU1 / ALU2 / ALU3 — stick-on and mixed placements for aluminum rims, including hidden-weight positions that keep the outer face of a polished wheel clean.
- OPT weight optimization — when a wheel calls for more than 30 g of correction, OPT walks you through rotating the tire on the rim to cancel imbalance instead of stacking weight. Katool's manual shows a 45 g correction dropping to 9 g.
Built-in fault diagnosis and a self-calibration routine use the included 100 g calibration weight — the machine arrives factory-calibrated, and you can re-verify it yourself with any 13"–14" wheel rather than waiting on a service call.

Power and Installation
-- Standard outlet: 110V single-phase on a grounded three-pin outlet — the ground circuit matters (under 1 ohm to building ground); a defective ground is a shock hazard and voids the warranty. When in doubt, have an electrician verify the outlet.
- Floor: solid, flat concrete. In normal service the balancer bolts to the floor through its three support feet; most electrical codes call for hard wiring on a bolted-down install, so plan the spot before anchoring.
- Clearance: leave working room around the machine for mounting and demounting wheels — the footprint itself is compact enough for a single bay corner.
- Safety interlock: the spin cycle runs hood-down; the interlock should never be bypassed.
Warranty
-Katool covers the KT-B700 with a limited one-year (12-month) parts warranty against product defects — including motors, displays and electronics — with replacement parts shipped free. A 2-year extended warranty plan is available for any Katool or M&E automotive equipment. Claims require the original order number and purchase from My Garage Supplies or a registered vendor; labor is not included, and warranty service is subject to approval by Katool's service department.
