How to Choose the Right Motorcycle Lift

Not every lift fits every bike or garage. There are so many moving pieces in picking the right motorcycle lift, and we know how stressful and overwhelming it can be. That’s why we encourage you to get in touch with our customer service team for guidance.

We’ll start by assessing your garage layout, the type of bike(s) you’ll be lifting, and how often you plan to use it. Then it’s just a matter of accounting for your budget and we can offer a personalized recommendation.

The 1,000 lb. Air-Operated Atlas CycleLift covers everything from cruisers to standard street bikes. It’s one of our best-selling models for a reason!

But, the Tuxedo 1,500 lb. High-Rise Lift Bench offers added strength and flexibility for heavier bikes, or if you want side extensions and more surface area. It also includes a front-wheel vise, balance bar, and pump for larger touring bikes or multi-bike shops.

You should take your power source into consideration as well. Air-operated models require a basic shop compressor, while hydraulic models may be better suited for garages without compressed air systems.

Don’t forget about platform length and height, either. You’ll want a table long enough for your bike’s wheelbase, and high enough to comfortably access lower components.

My Garage Supplies has expertise you can count on, so don’t be shy. Connect with our team today for real help from people who work with this equipment on a daily basis!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use these lifts for motorcycles and ATVs?

Yes, several of our models are dual-purpose - so whether you need a motorcycle lift, ATV lift, or both, we’ve got you covered. The Atlas Hi-Rise 1500 and Tuxedo High-Rise Bench come with side extensions and wide decks that can accommodate both bikes and ATVs.

What’s the difference between a lift table and a lift jack?

Lift tables (like the ones we sell) raise the entire bike with a wide, stable platform. They're much safer and easier to use than small jacks, especially for full-service work or storage.

How high do these lifts go?

Most of our lift tables reach heights of 30-33 inches, which brings the bike up to a comfortable working level for most users. Always confirm the exact lifting height in the specs.

Will the lift work with my front-wheel chock or vise?

Yes, most of our lifts include built-in front wheel vises or allow you to mount one. Be sure to check if the model includes a vise or if it’s an add-on accessory.

Do I need an air compressor to operate these lifts?

Most likely. The Atlas 1,000 lb. Air-Operated Lift is one example that needs compressed air to raise and lower bikes. A standard garage compressor (90-120 PSI) is usually sufficient, but don’t hesitate to ask our experts for clarification or check product specs before purchasing.
