The SnowBear by Marlon Storm II (STOR8422) is an 84 x 22 in. personal snow plow for light trucks and SUVs, built to clear driveways, lanes and small parking lots. It slides onto a vehicle-specific custom mount, sold separately, and a 3,000 lb electric winch raises and lowers the blade from inside the cab with the included wireless remote.
DK2 and SnowBear are both brands of Marlon Recreational Products, and Marlon now sells the Storm II under the SnowBear by Marlon name. Older units carried a DK2 decal, so the plow you receive may show the SnowBear decal instead. Marlon's rebrand notice describes it as the same snow plow with the same performance.
One lever locks the blade straight, left or right, and trip springs let it tip forward over buried obstacles, then pull it back. To take the plow off, disconnect the wiring, remove the two locking plates and roll it away on its flip-down castor wheels.
Construction is all steel with a UV powder coating, built by an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer and covered by a 1-year limited warranty. Marlon rates the plow for light personal use; it is not intended for commercial plowing.
The Storm II needs a vehicle-specific custom mount kit, sold separately. The mount is a pair of brackets made for your vehicle, joined by a cross member. The cross member ships with the plow, and the bracket kit includes its own installation instructions.
Find your kit number in the Custom Mount Kit Guide under Documents. It lists kits by make, model, year and 2WD or 4WD. Kits marked with an asterisk also require the extended cross bar, and some vehicles need a bumper skirt, air dam or tow bar removed before the mount goes on. Marlon states that its SnowBear by Marlon mount kits fit DK2 by Marlon plows.
With the plow on, the vehicle must stay within its gross vehicle and front axle weight ratings (GVWR and GAWR) on the driver's door pillar. Rear ballast, such as sand bags behind the rear axle, may be needed.
Ships in a single carton on a standard-size pallet.

Marlon covers this plow with a 1-year limited warranty to the original purchaser against manufacturing defects in workmanship and materials under normal use. Within that year, Marlon replaces or supplies any defective part at its option. The warranty does not cover disposable parts such as scraper blades, plow springs, plow markers, snow deflectors, winch straps and hardware, or labor, installation and shipping charges. The owner's manual adds that the plow is intended for personal use only and that commercial use voids warranty claims.
Yes. The parts list in the owner's manual includes one cross member, which joins the two vehicle brackets. The vehicle-specific bracket kit is sold separately, and kits marked with an asterisk in the mount guide require the extended cross bar.
DK2 says to fit both brackets loosely, loosely fit the cross member between them, then tighten the brackets and finally the cross member. If they do not line up, check the kit number in the mount guide.
A 35 amp circuit breaker goes on the red wire between the winch control box and the battery. It protects the winch and the vehicle's electrical system.
DK2 recommends about 1/4 in. below the scraper blade. The skid shoes protect the surface you are plowing and reduce wear on the scraper.
The owner's manual says not to plow above 10 mph (15 km/h). Faster speeds can overload the plow and cut cooling air to the engine.
The owner's manual recommends plow lights for plowing at night, because the blade will likely block the vehicle's headlights. DK2 sells plow light kits separately, including the LK4200LB2 LED kit and the 81488LB2 halogen kit.
The Storm II ELITE (STOR8422ELT) mounts the same way but lifts the blade with a 3,000 lb IP67-rated, fully sealed electric actuator instead of a winch.
