DK2 Everest EVST9022 Custom-Mount Hydraulic Snow Plow

The DK2 Everest (EVST9022) is DK2's fully hydraulic custom-mount snow plow with an 88 x 22 in. blade. A hydraulic pump and cylinders raise, lower and angle the blade from inside the vehicle with a wired handheld remote, so blade angle changes happen from the driver's seat.

It mounts on bolt-on, vehicle-specific brackets, sold separately, that need no drilling or welding, and it is light enough that the factory suspension does not need to be altered. The pump rides on the blade hardware, so when the plow comes off, the hydraulics roll away with it instead of staying on the truck with the mount.

The blade has an industrial powder-coated finish and the hardware is hot-dipped galvanized to resist rust. Marlon designs the Everest for residential snow removal on driveways, lanes and small parking lots; it is not intended for commercial use or for clearing compacted piles left by municipal plows.

The Everest needs a vehicle-specific custom mount kit, sold separately. The mount is bolt-on brackets made for your vehicle, joined by a cross member. The cross member ships with the plow. The bracket kit includes its own installation instructions; the Everest manual has you fit the mount and cross bar finger-tight first, then tighten everything with tools.

Find your kit number in the Custom Mount Kit Guide under Documents. It lists kits by make, model, year and 2WD or 4WD. Kits marked with an asterisk also require the extended cross bar, and some vehicles need a bumper skirt, air dam or tow bar removed before the mount goes on. Marlon states that its SnowBear by Marlon mount kits fit DK2 by Marlon plows.

With the plow on, the vehicle must stay within its gross vehicle and front axle weight ratings (GVWR and GAWR) on the driver's door pillar. Rear ballast, such as sand bags behind the rear axle, may be needed.

Ships partially assembled in two boxes, one with the blade and one with the hydraulic system and frame. Mount installation and wiring are required.

Marlon covers this plow with a 1-year limited warranty to the original purchaser against manufacturing defects in workmanship and materials under normal use. Within that year, Marlon replaces or supplies any defective part at its option. The warranty does not cover disposable parts such as scraper blades, plow springs, plow markers, snow deflectors and hardware, or labor, installation and shipping charges. The owner's manual adds that the plow is intended for personal use only and that commercial use voids warranty claims.

Is the cross member included?

Yes. The parts list in the owner's manual includes one cross member, which joins the two vehicle brackets. The vehicle-specific bracket kit is sold separately, and kits marked with an asterisk in the mount guide require the extended cross bar.

How much assembly does it need?

You join the blade halves, fit the scraper, deflector, frame, castors and springs, fill the pump, install the mount and cross bar, and wire the harness to the battery through the supplied breaker. DK2 suggests a second person helps. Tools: an adjustable wrench, vise grips and 11/16, 5/8, 3/4 and 1-11/16 in. sockets.

How do I fill and bleed the hydraulic system?

Check that every hose, pump and cylinder connection is tight. Fill the reservoir with the supplied ATF to the ADD line, then run the plow up, down, left and right to push the air out. Top off to the fill line on the clear reservoir and repeat until no air remains. Check the fluid level and fittings for leaks before each use.

How high should the skid shoes be set?

DK2 recommends about 1/4 in. below the scraper blade. The skid shoes protect the surface you are plowing and reduce wear on the scraper.

How fast can I plow?

The owner's manual says not to plow above 10 mph (15 km/h). Faster speeds can overload the plow and cut cooling air to the engine.

Do I need plow lights?

The owner's manual recommends plow lights for plowing at night, because the blade will likely block the vehicle's headlights. DK2 sells plow light kits separately, including the LK4200LB2 LED kit and the 81488LB2 halogen kit.
