DK2 SnowBear Elite AVAL8826ELT 88" x 26" Hitch-Mounted Snow Plow

The DK2 AVAL8826ELT is an 88-inch by 26-inch Elite hitch-mounted snow plow that slides into a 2-inch Class III front-mount receiver and lifts with a 3,000 lb IP67-rated, fully sealed electric actuator. At 88 inches it is the widest blade in the Universal Elite line, aimed at long driveways. DK2 rates the Universal hitch-mounted plows to fit most light trucks and SUVs.

The actuator has a built-in clutch and chain, draws less amperage than an electric winch, and runs from inside the vehicle with the included wireless remote. The actuator lifts the blade; angling is manual, with three locked positions: straight, left and right. When the job is done, flip down the castor wheels, slide the plow off the receiver and roll it away for storage.

DK2 now sells this plow under its SnowBear by Marlon brand as part of the Universal line. Earlier units were sold as the DK2 Avalanche and carried DK2 decals. DK2 states the plow is unchanged under the new graphics, and product appearance may vary slightly from the photos.

• Receiver mount: slides into a standard 2-inch Class III front-mount receiver (sold separately) and slides back out for removal.

• Trip springs: the blade trips forward when it strikes a hidden obstacle, absorbing shock to the plow, vehicle and driver, and the springs pull it back into position.
• Blade stiffeners: a set of stiffeners creates a three-point connection for added blade strength.
• Hardened steel scraper and skid shoes: the scraper lines the bottom of the blade for long life, and adjustable skid shoes hold it at a set height.
• Rubber snow deflector: reduces snow thrown over the top of the blade onto the windshield.
• Plow markers: polymer-wrapped wire rope markers show the outside corners of the blade in blowing snow.
• Flip-down locking castors: for mounting, removal and roll-away storage.
• Finish: all-steel construction with UV-protected black powder coat, from an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer.

• Weight ratings: with the plow installed, the vehicle must stay within its gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and gross axle weight ratings (GAWR), listed on the label in the driver's door opening. Rear ballast may be needed to keep the front axle within its rating.

The plow ships in a single carton on a standard pallet. The front-mount receiver hitch is sold separately, and a snowplow light kit is not part of this kit.

Marlon Recreational Products gives the original purchaser a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects in workmanship and materials under normal use and service. Within that year Marlon will repair, replace or supply any defective part at its option.

The warranty does not cover misuse or abuse, improper installation, maintenance or storage, expendable parts such as nuts, bolts, pins, springs, markers, snow deflectors and scraper blades, normal wear and tear, or consequential damage. The plow is intended for personal use only, and commercial use voids warranty claims. Ramming a pile of snow also voids the warranty.

Claims need proof of original purchase and a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number issued by Marlon. Transportation charges for warranty returns are the purchaser's responsibility.

Will this plow fit my Jeep, pickup truck or SUV?

Fit is set by the front receiver, not the vehicle brand. DK2 states its Universal hitch-mounted plows mount on any vehicle with a standard 2-inch Class III front-mount receiver and fit most light trucks and SUVs. The receiver is sold separately, and the vehicle must stay within its GVWR and front axle rating with the plow installed.

Is the front receiver hitch included?

No. The plow needs a 2-inch Class III front-mount receiver installed on the vehicle, sold separately.

How is a hitch-mounted plow different from a custom-mount plow?

Hitch-mounted (T-frame) plows like this one slide into a standard 2-inch Class III front receiver. DK2 custom-mount plows use vehicle-specific mounting brackets joined by a cross member that connects the plow frame to the vehicle frame.

Can I convert this plow to a custom mount later?

Yes. DK2 lists a CRM3312 cross-member plus the custom mount kit for your vehicle make, model and year.

Can I drive on the road with the plow attached?

DK2 states a snowplow light kit is required to drive on any road with the plow attached, and one is not part of this kit. Local road laws apply, DK2 recommends staying off highways, and the safety chain should hold the raised blade whenever you are not plowing.

How should I plow with it?

Plow as snow builds to 3 to 6 inches and keep plowing speed at 10 mph or less. Do not ram snow piles, because ramming voids the warranty and can damage the vehicle. Set the skid shoes about 1/4 inch below the scraper, and remove the plow from the vehicle between uses.

How is this different from the winch version?

The AVAL8826 has the same blade size and lifts with a 3,000 lb wireless electric winch. The Elite lifts with a sealed electric actuator that has a built-in clutch and chain and draws less amperage than the winch.

Does the warranty cover commercial use?

No. The warranty covers personal use only, and commercial use voids warranty claims. The SnowBear manual describes the plow as designed for residential snow removal.
