The Triumph NTC-950-1 commercial-style tire changer and NTB-550 computer wheel balancer ship together as a single shop package, covering both halves of a tire service in one purchase. The changer mounts and dismounts everything from standard passenger tires to harder jobs, and the balancer spins each wheel back to a true reading before it goes back on the vehicle.

On the NTC-950-1, the assist arm holds the upper bead and sidewall in place so you can work run-flat and low-profile tires without fighting the tire by hand. A 5,500-lb bead breaker opens stubborn beads, and the Jet Blast inflator system delivers an air burst to seat the bead on the rim. A 1.5 HP motor turns the table, clamping wheels from 16" to 28" on the inside and 14" to 26" on the outside.

The NTB-550 holds the wheel with a foot-pedal brake while you place weights, reads to ±1 gram accuracy, and completes a balancing cycle in 6 to 9 seconds. It handles wheels from 10" to 28" with rim widths from 1.5" to 20". Both machines run on 110V single-phase power, so they drop into a standard shop or garage circuit without dedicated three-phase wiring.

  • Passenger cars and 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton light trucks
  • Load Range C, D, and E tires
  • Wheels from 14" to 24", plus 16.5" wheels
  • Motorcycle wheels with an additional adapter1

Warranty

Triumph tire equipment carries a 1-year parts warranty (parts only, no labor). If a covered part fails, call Triumph, troubleshoot the problem over the phone, and the replacement part ships to you free of charge by ground service. Labor to install the replacement part is not covered, so you install it yourself or arrange your own installer.

Consumable and wear items are not covered. On the tire changer, that means the plastic protective pads and tooling on the clamps, heads, bead breakers, and assist arms, the single tire inflation hose, and the lube brush and bucket. On the wheel balancer, it means the quick-release wing nut, wheel hood cover, top tray cover, and wheel weight hammer.

What power supply does this combo need?

Both the NTC-950-1 and the NTB-550 run on 110V single-phase power, so they work on a standard shop or garage circuit without dedicated three-phase wiring.

Can it service run-flat and low-profile tires?

Yes. The NTC-950-1's assist arm supports the bead and sidewall so you can mount and dismount run-flat and low-profile tires, and the Jet Blast inflator helps seat stubborn beads.

What wheels and vehicles does it cover?

Passenger cars and 1/2- to 1-ton light trucks, Load Range C through E tires, wheels from 14" to 24" plus 16.5" wheels, and motorcycle wheels with an additional adapter. It is not rated for box trucks, over-the-road trucks, 19.5"/21.5" wheels, or implement wheels.

How does it ship, and is anything assembled?

The combo ships on an LTL freight carrier with lift-gate service, so the driver lowers it to the ground at the back of the truck. The driver does not move the equipment inside your shop or assemble it. You call the freight company to schedule the delivery appointment; terminal pickup is also available if you would rather collect it with a trailer or moving van.
