The EMAX Silent Air Industrial ESS07V080Y1 is a 7.5 HP, 80-gallon two-stage stationary air compressor built for shops that run air tools, paint guns, and bench equipment through a full work day. The vertical tank keeps the floor footprint tight — roughly 39 inches by 25 inches — while the three-cylinder, two-stage pump delivers 26 CFM and tops out at a 175 PSI maximum.

What sets this unit apart is EMAX's patented Silent Air™ intake silencing. Compressor noise is loudest at the air intake, and the Silent Air silencer cuts it at the source with noise-reducing baffle plates and high-capacity filter media. EMAX rates Silent Air models at up to 50% quieter operation, putting noise levels at or near conversational volume. Unlike a sealed sound cabinet, the silencer bolts on externally, so the pump, belts, and fittings stay fully accessible for service.

A splash-lubricated pump keeps the design simple and field-serviceable: dippers on the connecting rods carry oil from the crankcase up onto the cylinders and pistons on every revolution — the time-proven lubrication method that has run piston compressors since the category began. The pump turns at a steady 770 RPM off a 1,740 RPM open-drip-proof motor, and a factory-installed magnetic starter is wired and ready out of the crate.

Silent Air™ intake silencing

The patented Silent Air silencer targets intake noise — the loudest source of compressor sound — with stacked baffle plates and high-capacity filter media that also pull far more debris out of the incoming air than a standard intake filter. Because it mounts externally instead of enclosing the pump, it stays easy to inspect and service.

Multi-belt V-belt drive

Instead of a single narrow A-width belt, the drive runs two wider B- and C-width belts. The added surface area improves grip and lets each belt run at lower tension, which eases the load on the motor and pump bearings and keeps noise and vibration down across thousands of run hours.

Three-cylinder, two-stage splash-lubricated pump

The two-stage pump (model APP3Y0732TR2) compresses air in two steps to reach 175 PSI efficiently, on a splash-lubrication system rated for an estimated 50,000-hour pump life. Oil capacity is 1.6 quarts.

Every EMAX piston compressor carries a 1-year standard warranty on material, workmanship, and parts from the date of delivery, including one year of warranty labor from an authorized technician. Ground freight on warranty parts is covered for the first six months.

EMAX extends that coverage to a full 5-year warranty — and a limited-lifetime warranty on the pump — when you register the unit and enroll in the SMART OIL™ maintenance program, keeping it on EMAX's scheduled oil and filter service (service kit EFKIT008AWB). The limited-lifetime pump warranty is non-prorated and has no hour limit. Routine service such as oil changes, filter changes, and belt tensioning, along with normal wear parts, is not covered, and warranty terms require following the owner's manual.

What electrical service does it need?

The compressor runs on 230V single-phase power and draws 38.9 full-load amps, so it needs a dedicated 230V circuit — EMAX recommends a 50-amp breaker. With a 210-amp locked-rotor draw at startup, it is not a 120V plug-in unit; plan for a hardwired circuit feeding the included magnetic starter.

How loud is it?

The patented Silent Air silencer targets intake noise and is rated for up to 50% quieter operation, with noise at or near conversational volume.

Is it a continuous-duty compressor?

It is rated for a 60% duty cycle rather than continuous run — built to run roughly six of every ten minutes under load. That is ample for most shop and tool work, and the 80-gallon tank carries you through demand spikes.

How do I get the 5-year and lifetime pump warranty?

Register the compressor with EMAX and enroll in the SMART OIL™ maintenance program, then keep up the scheduled oil and filter service. That upgrades the standard 1-year coverage to 5 years on the unit and a limited-lifetime, non-prorated warranty on the pump.
