Description
-The EMAX Silent Air Industrial Plus 7.5 HP 80-gallon two-stage air compressor (ESP07V080V1) is a stationary, single-phase electric unit built around a pressure-lubricated, 100% cast iron Eaton pump and EMAX's patented Silent Air noise-suppression system. It delivers 31 CFM at 100 PSI and 26 CFM at its 175 PSI maximum from a vertical 80-gallon tank, with continuous-run capability for shops that keep air on the line all day.
This is a hard-wired electric machine. It requires 230V single-phase power on a dedicated 50-amp circuit (38.9 full-load amps at the 1.15 service factor, 210 locked-rotor amps), and ships with a magnetic motor starter already fitted. Confirm your shop has that service before ordering.
Silent Air Noise Suppression
EMAX's patented Silent Air silencer targets intake noise — the loudest source of compressor sound — using noise-reducing baffle plates and high-capacity filter media. The result is up to 50% quieter operation, at or below conversational volume; each 10 dBA drop equals a 50% reduction in perceived loudness to the human ear. Unlike enclosed cabinet systems, the silencer keeps the pump and motor open for routine service without sacrificing access.
Features
-Pressure-Lubricated Cast Iron Pump
A gear-driven oil pump mounted to the rear of the crankshaft generates positive oil pressure, delivering a continuous flow of oil to every bearing point rather than relying on splash lubrication. Each crankshaft and connecting rod is rifle-drilled (gun-drilled) so oil travels directly to the wear points, and a spin-on automotive-style oil filter keeps that oil clean. An analog liquid-filled gauge lets the operator monitor oil pressure directly. Pressure lubrication puts oil precisely where it is needed, which is why EMAX rates the pump for an estimated 70,000-hour service life under continuous-duty use.
Oil Pump Detail
The oil pump assembly includes a bleeder valve for quick priming, a liquid-filled oil pressure gauge for clear readings during operation, an automotive-style gear oil pump that pressurizes the crankshaft bearings and upper connecting-rod assembly, an adjustable regulator for setting oil pressure across the RPM range, and an automotive-style spin-on filter for clean, simple oil changes.
100% Cast Iron Construction
All major components of the pump are cast iron — crankcase, cylinder heads, cylinders, connecting rods, crankshaft, and high-pressure piston — rather than the aluminum used in many compressors in this class. Cast iron holds rigidity and handles high-duty-cycle compression heat without the head-gasket and scoring failures aluminum is prone to. There are no aluminum sleeves hidden beneath the paint.
Cast Iron Cylinders
The cylinders are CNC-machined cast iron held to precise flatness and bore concentricity, which reduces oil carryover and supports long piston-ring life. Deep cooling fins maximize surface area for cylinder cooling under high-duty-cycle operation, and deep-bored, threaded head holes allow proper torque for a lasting head-gasket seal. Each bore is precision-honed for easier break-in and reduced oil carryover.
Solid Cast Iron Cylinder Heads
Cast iron cylinder heads with tapped holes provide stronger, more rigid head retention than aluminum heads and avoid the head-gasket failures common to aluminum. The disc-valve design seals the head gasket securely without retorquing, and the heads are built to accept the optional automatic head unloader.
CNC-Machined Disc Valves
The pump uses CNC-machined concentric-ring (disc) valves, surface-ground for sealing, durability, and long service life. Service is simple: remove the retainer, lift the valve out for inspection, and reinstall within minutes. All valves are engineered to support an automatic head unloader system.
Head Unloaders for Continuous Run
This fully packaged electric unit includes head unloaders, recommended for any electric compressor running at a 40% or greater duty cycle. At preset tank pressure the pilot valve unloads the compressor, holding the intake valve open so the motor keeps running instead of repeatedly starting under load. That circulates cool air through the cylinder, dissipates heat, reduces wear, and protects the motor and magnetic starter — cutting amp draw by up to 60% while unloaded. A ball valve tied to the pilot valve can be opened for true continuous-run operation above a 40% duty cycle.
Cast Iron Flywheel
The Eaton pump uses a heavy-duty cast iron flywheel whose mass stores kinetic energy to reduce amp draw and overall energy consumption. At 7.5 HP the flywheel measures 20 inches, drives two B-style groove belts for a larger belt contact area and longer belt life, and carries nine large cooling fins to pull heat off the pump.
Piston and Connecting Rod
The high-pressure piston is cast iron to withstand heavy loads and resist cylinder scoring, paired with a CNC-machined solid cast iron connecting rod for rigidity and strength. Replaceable bearing inserts and wrist pins make the connecting-rod assembly fully rebuildable rather than throw-away. On this two-stage pump the low-pressure piston is aluminum, where it runs under low stress (around 45 PSI).
The piston runs four rings instead of three, designed to overlap: two oil-control rings clear excess oil on the downstroke and two compression rings seal against blow-by. This maximizes sealing, reduces oil carryover, and extends ring life. A rifle-drilled oil port carries oil through the crankshaft and up the connecting rod to the piston pin and bearing for continuous lubrication.
Belt Drive and Dual-Bolt Belt Tensioner
A multi-belt V-belt drive using wider B- and C-width belts puts more surface area on the flywheel, reduces belt tension and strain on the motor and bearings, and lowers noise and vibration for longer system life. The dual-bolt belt tensioner makes belt adjustment precise and keeps alignment without prying — no pry bars required to set belt tension.
Electric Auto Drain
A dual-timer electric auto drain expels moisture and water from the air receiver tank automatically, with an adjustable interval from 1 to 45 minutes and an adjustable open duration. An air muffler is included for quiet water discharge.
Pump Riser
The pump mounting-plate riser raises the pump to allow 360-degree airflow off the flywheel across the oil reservoir, and routes cooling air beneath the pump for maximum cooling.

Warranty
-EMAX covers the compressor with a 1-year standard warranty from the date of delivery against defects in material, workmanship, and parts, including one year of warranty labor from an authorized technician. The compressor must be registered with EMAX to activate coverage.
The standard warranty can be extended to a full 5 years when you register for the EMAX extended warranty plan, use EMAX SMART OIL, and follow the required maintenance schedule. The 5-Year Extended Warranty Kit (EMAX part EFKIT008AWBS, sold separately) supplies the SMART OIL and filters for 5–10 HP Silent Air electric models.
Required maintenance to hold warranty status: change the factory break-in oil within the first 70 hours of operation, then change the oil again, and thereafter every 6 months or 1,000 hours of run time (whichever comes first) using EMAX SMART OIL. Maintain proper oil level at all times — running the unit low on oil voids the warranty.
