Description

-

The Auxx Lift Attic-Lift 1400 is a motorized storage platform that carries up to 400 lb of totes, gear, and seasonal items between your floor and your attic at the push of a button. Two synchronized tubular motors raise and lower a rigid aluminum-and-plywood deck on four steel cables, so heavy loads ride overhead instead of going up a pull-down attic ladder in your arms.

The platform lowers flat to the ground for loading, then rises until it sits level with your attic floor — slide boxes straight on and off at each end with no ramp and nothing to lift overhead. It is made in the USA and runs on a standard 110V household outlet.

Raises flush with the attic floor, then lowers to load at a comfortable height.

Pick the Standard deck (20.75 in × 44 in, 6.4 sq ft) for tote storage in tighter framing, or the Max deck (28.75 in × 56 in, 11.1 sq ft) when you need to move larger or longer items. Both decks carry the same 400 lb rating and fit common joist spacing.

Features

-

Operate it by wireless remote

Raise and lower the platform from the ground or from inside the attic with the included wireless remote (433.92 MHz transmitter). Set your own upper and lower stop points and the platform stops automatically at the same positions every time, so it parks level with the attic floor and returns to the same loading height on its own.

Built-in load safety

Smart controls add overweight protection that keeps you from lifting past the rated load, and the two motors stay synchronized so the deck holds level even when the weight sits heavier on one side. Rated anchor points let you secure tall or fragile items with ratchet straps before they go up.

Two synchronized tubular motors

A pair of IP44 tubular motors, mounted on steel strut channels and lag-bolted across several ceiling joists, drive the platform on four 1/8-inch 7×19 vinyl-coated galvanized aircraft cables built from 133 wires each. Spreading the mounts across multiple joists distributes the load through your framing rather than hanging it from one point. Built-in temperature sensors pause the motors if they reach a thermal threshold, then let the lift resume after a cool-down.

Each tubular motor winds its lifting cable directly on the drum.

Low-profile design for shallow attics

The drive hardware sits on top of your attic floor joists and needs as little as 8 inches of attic clearance, so it works in low, shallow attics and with all roof pitches. Because the deck lowers all the way to the floor, you load at ground level — there is no ramp to climb and no floor-standing steel frame or posts to build.

Cast corner brackets tie the lifting cables into the T-slot frame and plywood deck.

Plug into a standard outlet

The Attic-Lift runs on a 110–120V household outlet through a 10-foot, 16-gauge NEMA 5-15 cord on a 15-amp circuit — the same power your everyday appliances use. No dedicated wiring or special outlet required.

Installation

Installing the Attic-Lift is a DIY project on the order of mounting a wall TV: you fasten two mounting brackets across several joists, attach the two motors, and cut the ceiling opening (typically only one joist needs to be modified). Step-by-step guides are in the Documents section below, and the installation video walks through the whole process — if any step is outside your comfort zone, a handyman can finish the job.

Sizing & Fit

-

The Attic-Lift comes in two deck sizes, both designed to fit common ceiling joist and truss spacing. In most framing only one joist needs to be modified to open up the cutout.

  • Standard — 20.75 in × 44 in deck (6.4 sq ft). Fits 12 in on-center joists. Minimum ceiling cutout 22.5 in × 46.5 in.
  • Max — 28.75 in × 56 in deck (11.1 sq ft). Fits 16 in on-center joists. Minimum ceiling cutout 30.5 in × 58.5 in.

Ceiling openings can be cut up to an inch larger than the minimum. The drive hardware needs at least 8 inches of attic clearance above the opening and works with all roof pitches. Detailed sizing diagrams for both decks are in the product gallery.

FAQ

-

How is the Attic-Lift installed?

You mount two brackets across several ceiling joists, attach the two motors, and cut the ceiling opening for the platform — typically only one joist needs to be modified. The installation guides under Documents and the installation video in Features cover each step; if you are not comfortable with a step, a handyman can complete the install.

What size ceiling opening do I need?

The Standard deck needs a minimum opening of 22.5 in × 46.5 in; the Max deck needs 30.5 in × 58.5 in. Openings can be cut up to an inch larger.

Will my ceiling framing support the load?

The motors mount on strut channels that span several joists, which distributes the load across your framing instead of concentrating it on a single joist. For older or unusual framing, confirm suitability with a contractor before installing.

How long can it run continuously?

Temperature sensors monitor the motors and pause the lift if it reaches a thermal threshold, then let it resume after a cool-down. The rated duty cycle at maximum capacity is 3 minutes on followed by 15 minutes off; real-world runtime varies with ceiling height, load, and attic temperature.

Does the platform reduce the rated capacity?

No. The 400 lb rating is the load the platform carries — the weight of the deck itself is separate.

How fast does it move?

About 30 seconds to travel a 9-foot ceiling height.
