Atlas SBC420 Standard Sandblast Cabinet with Attached Vacuum

The Atlas SBC420 is a standard-size sandblasting cabinet for shops that strip rust, scale, and old finish off automotive parts, tools, and hardware. The 47 1/2" x 24" x 22 1/2" work area handles brake drums, brackets, small castings, and tooling, and a large top-load door plus a door on each side lets you load awkward parts from whichever direction fits the piece.

The cabinet stays ready to work. Connect it to your shop air and the SBC420 stays primed — step on the foot pedal and the NE490 power gun fires abrasive. Your hands stay inside the cabinet on the part instead of holding a trigger. A foot-operated control valve meters the abrasive, so you control the blast with your foot and both gloves stay on the work.

An attached vacuum runs while you blast, pulling floating rust and spent glass bead off the surface and out of the air so the window stays clear through long jobs. Spent abrasive drops into the lower hopper for reuse or removal through the bottom clean-out gate. The heavy-duty blasting gun uses replaceable ceramic nozzles — four come with the cabinet, along with plastic protectors for the viewing window. Recommended media is glass bead (not included), the media Atlas calls out for stripping scale and heavy rust off automotive parts.

Inside, the gauntlet gloves and the blasting gun put you right on the part while the interior light keeps the work lit. The peel-off lens protectors take the frosting from blast-back, so you strip a layer instead of replacing the light lens.

The nozzle seats recessed inside the gun head rather than projecting from the front, which Atlas notes reduces the chance of breakage when the gun contacts a part edge during work. Four ceramic nozzles come with the cabinet and spares are stocked as wear parts.

The attached vacuum runs off the cabinet and clears floating rust and spent bead as you work. The filter-cleaning pump knocks loaded dust off the cartridge filter, and the dust evacuation hatch at the base of the hopper empties routine clean-out in one pass.

What air supply do I need to run the SBC420?

The cabinet calls for an external air supply delivering 15 CFM at 80–100 PSI and runs on a standard 110V outlet. Confirm your compressor can sustain that flow at pressure under continuous load — the gun draws air the whole time the foot pedal is down.

Is blasting media included?

No. The cabinet ships ready to load, but you supply the abrasive. Atlas recommends glass bead for stripping rust and scale off automotive parts.

How many nozzles come with it, and can they be replaced?

Four replaceable ceramic nozzles come with the cabinet. They seat recessed inside the gun body to cut down on breakage when the gun touches a part edge. Spares are stocked as wear parts — reach out before you run out and we'll have them ready.

How big a part will fit inside?

The work area is 47 1/2" wide x 24" deep x 22 1/2" high. A large top-load door and a door on each side let you load long or awkward parts from whichever direction fits — measure the part against those numbers before you order if it's a tight case.
